Interview Highlights: Mplus's Tomislav Glavaš Talks Leadership, Technology, and Future-proofing Business

Zagreb, September 23rd, 2024 – In a recent interview with Croatian business magazine Poduzetnik, Tomislav Glavaš, CEO of Mplus and a member of BOSQAR INVEST's Board, discussed BOSQAR's rebranding, his approach to leadership, and the growing importance of technology in business.

Reflecting on his journey with BOSQAR, which began in 2017, Glavaš shared how navigating a multinational team has shaped both his personal and professional growth.

"We had a big vision, a lot of ambition, and an enormous drive for success. Looking back, that period was incredibly challenging and required total commitment. It undoubtedly affected me, both as a manager and personally," he shared.

Leading a large team across ten countries, each with different cultures and work styles, posed significant challenges, but Glavaš views these experiences as crucial to his development and growth.

"Managing such a diverse team and making tough decisions has certainly matured me, both professionally and personally. Today, I'm a markedly different person than I was seven years ago when I joined the team. I believe that's only natural and right – over time, we should evolve and grow while staying true to our core values," he said.

The Key to Success: Balancing People and Technology

When discussing Mplus, BOSQAR INVEST's BPTO vertical, Glavaš described the company as one that not only keeps pace with technological advances but also stays grounded in human-centered values.

"Mplus is undoubtedly a tech-driven company. In 2020, we recognized the importance of technology in the BPTO industry and began a major transformation of our business model, putting technology at the heart of our operations," he explained.

Since then, Mplus has developed advanced technological solutions, serving numerous global clients and investing significantly in further innovation.

"We are particularly proud of our AI team and products. We are among the few in the global BPTO industry to have successfully created AI solutions for customer experience, which we launched earlier this year, transforming our service offering for clients worldwide," Glavaš said.

However, he emphasized that technology must always serve people.

"As I've said before, technology is meaningless without humans at the center – both as creators and users. That's why our motto, 'People Inspired by People,' perfectly reflects our DNA and our focus."

The Importance of Team Autonomy

Glavaš also highlighted the importance of creating an environment where teams can operate autonomously, stressing that a leader's effectiveness is directly tied to the strength of their team. "An effective leader cannot exist without a strong team," he said.

Building a capable team from scratch, one able to withstand the pressures and intensity of the business, was no small feat.

"Today, we are proud to have a well-organized company with a robust system and an experienced team that independently runs operations on the global stage," Glavaš noted.

He oversees a core team of about ten key members responsible for the company's main business functions and stays in regular contact with around fifty colleagues.

"My role now is more focused on mentorship and advice, with much less operational work than in the past. The essence of leadership isn't just about self-improvement; it's about developing the team and creating an environment where everyone can succeed. I believe that's the only way to build a company of this size and complexity," he told Poduzetnik.

BOSQAR INVEST's Rebranding: A Vision for Global Leadership and Growth

On the subject of BOSQAR's recent rebranding, Glavaš emphasized the company's evolution from a Croatian BPTO provider to a global leader in the sector, as well as a long-term investor and partner across various industries. "That's why we decided to adapt our brand to better reflect our new reality," he explained.

Looking ahead, Glavaš sees BOSQAR INVEST continuing to build on Mplus's success and applying the same principles to other verticals.

"Our vision is to keep building the most successful regional companies by leveraging the experience and knowledge we've gained through Mplus, our BPTO business. With this credibility, success, and a strong desire for progress, we believe we are the ideal partner for companies looking to make a strategic leap and become regional or even European leaders in their industries," Glavaš concluded.
